Full Moon in Taurus 16 Degrees Lunar Eclipse (November 8, 2022)
We are fast approaching eclipse season which is always big news. Today, I wanted to talk about the Full Moon in Taurus 16 degrees. This Full Moon is also a lunar eclipse that we can see in the United States in the early hours on November 8th, 2022! If you live in or near Houston like I do then you can see this eclipse starting at 2:02am. It becomes total at 4:59am and will end at 6:48 am. The Earth will be positioned between the Sun and the Moon at this time so that the Moon will appear to be blood red and for this reason we call it a Blood Moon.
This eclipse happens on November 8th but the window of time when we might experience this energy in our life is November 3nd through November 13th. Let’s dive in and see what to expect.
So this Full Moon is may have an edgy feel to it. Taurus is wanting us to be more practical and steady at this time. People with planets or rising sign in Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius, or Leo between 11 and 21 degrees (for Sun sign that is between the 3rd and the 13th of November, May, February, or August) are more likely to feel this energy more intensely. I think things could get a little tense around election day due to everyone feeling so politically passionate. Stay calm and press on. It might be a good year to vote early if you have that option. The planets are positioned in such a way as to help us all learn how to do more with less. This is due to planetary pattern called a T-Square and will require us to adjust to meet the challenges presented during this time. In the end, this leaves us happier and better off but the process could feel tense or difficult going through it. We may need to take extra steps to accomplish something and accept that life is going at a slower pace. We may need to rest more during this time. We may need to figure out how to accomplish something with a little less resources than we thought we had. Saturn is in the hot seat of the T Square helping to create some of these extra obstacles. The beauty of astrology though is that you can engage in the energy in positive ways and often have have way fewer negative experiences!
In this case, Saturn is asking us to work harder and smarter to find extra means, to come up with the solution to the problem using less, and to delay gratification for a bit and allow something truly strong to grow. This will give us pride and joy later on. Steady effort over time is favored in response to the challenge that could arise now. Eclipses bring change more than anything else and this is to help us along our path. Sometimes we get new opportunities that seem exciting or sometimes it may feel like something disappears. If nothing changes then I always say “Yay, you are on the right track!” If we get something that changes, the change that occurs is meant to increase our happiness. Often, we see this after all the energy has played out even if we were upset at the time that the change occurred.
This Full Moon has Mars the planet of energy, drive, and passion going backwards through the zodiac in Gemini and basically taking a nap. This amplifies the slow and steady wins the race attitude that will help us so much during this time. So if you feel like your get up go has got up and went don’t panic, just know that you are not alone and this period of time which lasts until January 13th is meant to slow us all down to recoup, regroup, and plan for what’s ahead in the New Year. Try to be content to get things done step by step as you go. When Mars goes back direct we will all take off at the speed of light towards our dreams and desires all the better for having rested.
